Global variable

A global variable is a variable that is stored in the Scripting Engine's common pool of memory, meaning that it is accessible from any script that "knows" its name. In practical terms, if a scripter knows the name of a global variable, he or she can access it from a script regardless of where the script is running. This is in contrast to a local variable, which can only be accessed from a script running on the object to which the variable is attached. Global variables are also briefly discussed in the MSCI Programmers Handbook.
